Hope Connect Groups

The Friday Group

The Friday Group started several years ago when a few of us began meeting in the church Fireside Room early every Friday morning. The simple format was to discuss the past week’s readings of the ‘One Year Bible’ and quench our thirst for knowing and growing in God’s word. This straightforward but simple approach, regular meeting time, and relational support has certainly ‘struck a nerve’ and the group has continued and grown to 16! This year we are focusing exclusively on the New Testament. We meet online every Friday morning at 7:00 through Zoom. Group facilitators are Drew Ellison (idrew@me.com) and Dave Wells (dwaslan@frontier.com).

The Prime Timers Group

The Prime Timers Group is a Bible study group full of some of our older folk who can meet during a week day, but all ages are welcome to join! They meet at Hope on Tuesdays at 10:30am for about an hour and enjoy coffee, snacks, and discussion lead by Willis Adell. You can also join on zoom with this link!

Volunteer Opportunities

We’re Moving!

Actually we officially moved already to our new home in Lake Stevens, but we’ve still got work to do at our old building in Everett. We’re organizing a church sale on May 19th and May 20th, and would love help setting up or during the actual sale! If this sounds like something you might be into, email Kim at kimbringsthefun@gmail.com

Volunteer to Lead Kids Club

Hey it’s Kim here, the Youth and Family Director (K-5) and Connections Director at Hope! I’m looking for Kids Club volunteers ages 17 and over. If you sign up, you would be leading Kids Club 1-2 Sundays a month. I can schedule you around any plans you may have, no problem. I have the curriculum ready to go so you just have to look over the lesson and lead the activities once you arrive on Sunday mornings!

Fill out the form below with the date you can start and I will be in contact with you about future dates. If you have any questions or already know future dates you’ll be available, feel free to leave them in the message section. I’m excited to have you on the team!

Baptism At Hope!

We love Baptism! It’s one of our favorite things to do at Hope. If you’ve grown up in the church, or if you’re just visiting Hope for the first time, you probably have some questions about Baptism. What does it mean? Why would I do it? We’d love to have that conversation with you in person, but here’s a few details to get you thinking about it.

What is Baptism? It’s one of the great traditions of the church done to welcome people into God’s family through water and the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus followers have been getting baptized for thousands of years now. And for us at Hope, it is a way to be connected to all the generations of Christians who have gone before, as well as our sisters and brothers all over the world today. In Baptism we are welcomed not only into God’s family, but into God’s community here in the world.

Who can get baptized? At Hope we believe that Baptism is a celebration open to all. So, we baptize infants, kids, teens, adults, everyone! All are welcome in God’s family and we believe Baptism is part of that welcoming.

How does Hope do Baptism? In general we do Baptism in two ways. During worship we baptize children by pouring water over their heads at the Baptismal font. For teens and adults we often pour pitchers of water over their heads while they’re in a kiddie pool :) Yep, really. Again - it’s a celebration and we want everyone to experience that.

Got more questions? Been baptized already and you’re wondering if you should be again? You’re wondering about an infant dedication instead of a Baptism? Those are great questions too! Let’s chat in person and explore this wonderful gift of Baptism for you!

Like What We’re About? Become a Partner!

Here at Hope we invite people to join us as partners, not members.  Membership is often about what you “get”.  Partnership is about what you get to do.  We seek partners who are moving towards Jesus, wherever they may find themselves on that journey.  If you find yourself pursuing Jesus - if you like asking hard questions, if you choose humility and grace in your relationships and your relationship with Jesus - you’re the perfect partner for Hope.
