Building A Future Together in Lake Stevens
What is this capital campaign all about?
We are starting to outgrow our space at Lake Stevens Middle School. As a church we want to put our roots down in the Lake Stevens community. It's about the partners and friends of Hope Covenant making a commitment to the Lake Stevens Community and our desire to have people know Jesus. We believe one way of doing this is by creating a permanent church that can be used to effectively minister to this area.
Why are we raising funds?
The National Covenant Church is willing and able to provide us a low-interest loan for 80% of the cost. The economy has improved to the point that Lake Stevens is experiencing a spike in real estate costs. Rather than continuing to spend money for rent, the goal is to invest that money into the growth of a church that can become a place for all of us to worship and reach out to the community. We will build a multi-purpose building (nothing fancy!) as soon as possible.
How much money will the partners of Hope need to provide?
Our goal is to raise $100,000 - we will partner with National Covenant Properties that will lend us 80% of the cost.
Will giving to the land campaign harm the overall budget?
Since Hope Covenant started three years ago the budget has grown every year because of the support of Hope's partners and friends. The goal of the capital campaign is NOT to take away from the general operating budget. Any giving to the capital campaign should be a special contribution that does not impact the regular weekly or monthly giving that comes from each family.
How much land will we be buying?
As of yet, no decisions have been made -- ideally the size of the land would be a minimum of 5 buildable acres in a central location in the community.
